Is getting a dog something that has been on your mind lately? My opinion is that a big dog will make for a better pet than a small one will. They give so much affection to their owners and really make every day fun. I know that there are folks who will not share my view on this.
Still, if you find yourself in the big dog camp, here are four breeds definitely worth looking into if you're considering the idea of getting a bigger dog.
Contrary to popular belief, the Rottweiler is a great dog that happens to be a lot sweeter than many people believe them to be. It all comes down to how they're trained, and they're completely gentle when trained right.
The German Shepherd is one of the most loyal dogs around, and an excellent watchdog at that. If you live in a house with children, these make for terrific pets.
These extraordinary dogs will always do well with your children and be quite good protectors of your house. Keep in mind that they need a lot of daily exercise as well as playtime.
If you want a dog that is really sweet, athletic and gets along well with children, then think about getting a Vizsla. These dogs can live up to 15 years, which is a long time for a dog their size. Give some thought to this dog if your house had kids in it.
Another dog, a French Mastiff, or Dog de Bordeaux, has such a cute face and eyes. These dogs are quite friendly and get along well with children.
They are so much cleaner and gentler than a bulldog is. You will not have to deal with any shedding with these dogs, but, they do sometimes drool.
When you want to get a big dog, keep in mind that we have only talked about some of the many good breeds that are there for your consideration. It doesn't matter which one you might choose because they are all great choices. Nevertheless, if you feel that these just aren't the right ones for you, that's ok. You still have hundreds more to look into until you find just the right one for you.
Besides dogs, the author also regularly blogs on book shelves for walls and solid wood bookcases.
