Having pets is not an easy chore. You have a lot of duties to accomplish so that they can mature into well-bred animals in the later years. These duties include gratifying their basic requirements as well as their caprices. From their chow to their protection, from their grooming to their well-being necessities, all these tasks will be yours to shoulder the instant you have possession of your adorable canine. It is not that dissimilar from being a mom or dad to a human infant.
Dogs are the most obvious choice for pets. They are devoted, highly trainable, smart and enjoyable to be with. It doesn't matter what kind of dog you like. If you like athletic breeds, you may get a German shepherd or a pit-bull. Should you prefer toy dogs like Japanese Spitz or Shih Tzu, you can easily order them at the vet's clinic. Sport dogs like Golden Retriever and Doberman are also great choices in terms of companionship.
If you think your dog can offer numerous advantages in your life, doesn't it follow that you should also do everything possible to keep them in an ecstatic state? It's the least you can do for all the fun moments that they have shared with you. Here are some cool ways to make your canine happy. Read on.
First of all, keep your dog in a blissful state by providing it with the requisite food, water, exercise, dog house and a regular visit to the nice neighborhood veterinarian. Make sure that you are offering them with nutrients that are fitting for their breed and chronological age. Just like human beings, big dogs need more calories while the small ones can make do with just a serving of dog food. In the same manner, young pups have slightly different nutritional necessities than their older counterparts. Dogs with longer hair also need more vitamins and minerals compared to those with thinner and finer coat.
An exercise routine every day or very week is the way to go in terms of bodily activities for these four-legged canines. Walking them in the park or playing Frisbee with them three times a week for a minimum of at least 30 minutes per session is enough to give their cardiovascular system a high-quality calisthenics. This will avert them from getting obese or developing diseases like atherosclerotic hearts.
A refuge is necessary to protect them from the extremes of the temperature. It will also act as their protection during windy days.
A regular trip to the medical veterinarian will help maintain their health. Be particular of their needed vaccinations. Take note of all the required immunizations so that you won't experience any untoward problem as they grow up. Regard your vet's advice as the rule to follow because they are aware that each dog breed has varying needs.
You may also give them a treat once in a while by giving them luxurious sessions in a dog spa. Cool shower baths, extensive nail clipping, fur conditioning, tooth brushing and other related services will make your pet dog feel so pampered. Consequently, these hygienic activities will also help remove the fleas that might have gotten stuck on their skin.
Spend quality time with your pooch. Aside from your bonding moments during your exercise meeting, make time to embrace and cuddle him the moment you get home from work. You may also try chatting with him like you would any normal person. Studies show that relating with animals decreases the stress hormone cortisol in the body. Consequently, this seemingly easy chore will then give long-term benefits to both of you.
Lastly, dog-proof your home so that accidents can be avoided or at the very least, minimized. Make sure all electrical appliances are kept or installed in harmless places. Be particular about floppy wires and blunt or heavy kitchen apparatus and utensils spread just about anywhere. Place your things in their proper locations so that your pet dog won't trip on it.

When Judy's fourteen year old cat passed away, she was faced with a decision: Should her beloved pet be brought to a vet for disposal, or buried in her own backyard?
Judy isn't sure what the right thing is to do, or how to move forward, but she can't just throw her beloved pet away like trash. That would be wrong because it doesn't honor her companion's spirit. What choices does a cat-lover have?
One should begin by checking with her city or other local government about whether any laws govern pet burials. Some towns forbid the burial of any kind of animals on private property, whether or not they are pets.
If you are uncomfortable with legal restrictions imposed by the town, talk to your vet. Find out if the laws are enforced. What are the consequences for ignoring restrictions? Sadness over the loss of your pet is no excuse for breaking the law or endangering your neighbors sanitation.
If home burial is not an option, your vet can respectfully dispose of the body. Such tasks are performed with discretion and privacy. This option can provide for considerable peace of mind.
If you are a no-nonsense person, just find a space in your yard and bury the kitty there. As long as nobody complains, it's your yard and you have a right to use it the way you like. If you decide to do this, make sure to mark the site and avoid digging there or planting anything for at least 5 years.
You may want to make a pretty grave site with a stone and some flowers around it. Feel free to have a plaque or wooden sign with the cat's name on it. This space can be a comforting place not unlike a human grave site that will invite you to think about your darling kitty and to commemorate her.
Keep in mind that the hole must be at least 2 feet deep. This will prevent other animals such as dogs and raccoons from digging and desecrating your pet's final resting place. Remember, that it is your decision...just make sure you have all the facts before you make a final choice.

There are very little to possibly no exceptions to the rule that a poorly behaved dog is the duty of the owner. Dogs are typically very simple to guide and there really is no pretext to have a dog that behaves disobediently.
When you become a dog owner the most important thing that you must do is establish the pack order of your dwelling. You are the master; you must be the leader dog. Dogs are biologically pack animals and they insist on this and will respond. Every human being member of the family must rank more than the dog in the order of the pack. The dog should obey the commands of the human family unit members.
Reverse to what many dog lovers may consider, dogs do not have human being characteristics. They cannot analyze and they do not comprehend details in communication. You are doing your dog a act of kindness when you are adamant that he comply with your wishes. Your dog will adore and respect you if he knows you are the leader.
If you are going to be sure to keep your dog safe and sound and your family happy you must be able to control your dog. He will respond to you every time if he considers you to be the alpha dog.
There are a couple of things that you need to consider when you think about training your dog. First of all, dogs will react better to affirmative reinforcement than to downbeat reinforcement. You can always get better consequences with admiration and treats than you can with anger or yelling.
The best results come about when you pay no attention to the negative manners and reward the wanted conduct. Giving consideration to your dog for negative behavior can produce anxiety in your dog rather than agreement and observance. Remember that dogs cannot reason like a human being and they just do not realize why you are irate and it just results in anxiety.
You must also strengthen wanted actions without delay, or else your dog will not connect the preferred conduct with the reward. Your dog only lives in the existing moment so if it doesn't transpire immediately, he won't get it. You can reward your dog with treats, praise, toys, playtime or even just a pat on the head. A dog will react to encouraging reinforcement, apart from of the form it takes.
After your dog comprehends what you are wanting and he is reliably doing what you ask, then you need to only reward him sporadically. Sporadic reinforcement is actually more effective for cementing in the activities than giving him a reward every time.
It will not take much time to coach your dog is you are dependable in your training efforts. You just need to be sure that you are seen as the leader and that you always follow through with your instruction efforts.

Check with your city or township administration whether there are any laws regarding pet burials. Some communities forbid home burials of any animals, pets or not.
If you are uncomfortable with legal restrictions imposed by the town, talk to your vet. Find out if the laws are enforced. What are the consequences for ignoring restrictions? Sadness over the loss of your pet is no excuse for breaking the law or endangering your neighbors sanitation.
Your vet may offer to take on the task of disposing of the cat. Some people are better off letting somebody else they trust take care of deceased pet. You'll never know how the feline body was discarded. The Vet will be very discreet about it. Just don't ask.
If you are a no-nonsense person, just find a space in your yard and bury the kitty there. As long as nobody complains, it's your yard and you have a right to use it the way you like. If you decide to do this, make sure to mark the site and avoid digging there or planting anything for at least 5 years.
If it feels right, you may want to make the grave site attractive with a stone and pretty plantings. One could make a plaque or wooden sign to commemorate the pet by name and, like a human gravesite, it will be a comforting place to remember the beloved cat and take pleasure in happy memories.
Some practical tips: be sure to dig a hole at least two feet deep, and keep larger animals out of the yard who might be tempted to dig. That would not be pleasant for you. Dogs like terriers are particularly bad about this, as are raccoons. Overall, gather information and investigate all the options, and you'll be most pleased with your choice.
