Finding flushable cat litter that will not disrupt the toilet is important. No one wants to flush the kitty litter only to have to call a plumber to fix the problem. For a litter to be flushed down a toilet, it needs several components.
Like some are biodegradable where clay litters are not. For those concerned with the environment a biodegradable ones are an excellent alternative. With standard clay ones, you have to spend time collecting it into little bags and then take it outside to the trash.

So why don't more people use this, because it can cause some clumps to clog the pipes. For those with a septic system they will have problems because the older septic systems cannot handle the flushable types. Thus leading people to use the clay type.
Cats have parasite in their feces that they pass along to the litter. When this is flushed it is causing a drop in the sea otter population. There for most people do not want to switch.
Many people suggest using the standard type and keeping putting the droppings in a plastic bag. But doesn't the plastic bag affect the environment as well? The best way to decide which one to use is do some research.
You can also ask your veterinarian which one is the best. Or which on is healthy for your cat. All cats are different and therefore might need a different type of product.
