While choosing a supplement for your pet is not simple, it doesn't need to be very difficult. Here are some tips to assist you with your decision.

Most supplements are given to animals according to what the animal weighs. A pet that weighs more would receive more supplementation then one that weighs less. A supplement can not be very effective if not the right amount is not given.

How a supplement is given to your pet is the next thing to consider. Many of the supplements available today are given through the animal's drinking water. If this is the type of supplementation you choose for your pet, be sure to mix it according to the directions.

Another way of giving your pet its supplement is by food. Many times the animal will not eat the supplement on its own and it must be mixed with food in order for the pet to eat it. Using a treat or food to hide the supplement is a great way to ensure your pet receives the benefits from it.

Many times it happens that an animal refuses to eat certain things. Some animals are just picky. If this choosiness extends to the supplementation you want to give your pet, it can make things difficult. If an a animal won't take the supplement, then the supplement will not do your pet much good.

Tour_200 It is always a major production when the new Tour de France route is announced. It's scheduled to happen Tuesday, and this year the Versus network is offering free live-streaming video of the news conference from France. The coverage will begin at 2:30 a.m. PDT, and after the announcement, at 8 a.m. PDT, Versus will host a live chat with analyst Bob Roll and Garmin-Transitions cyclist Christian Vande Velde to analyze the route.

There has been plenty of speculation on what the next Tour might look like, including a theory that cyclists will twice climb the signature l'Alpe d'Huez with its signature 21 switchbacks.

Usually on hand for the announcement are team managers as well as the defending champion and key riders from most teams. The 2010 defending champion Alberto Contador, however, has said he will not attend unless the international cycling federation, UCI, has concluded its investigation into his failed doping test from the 2010 race.

A Contador sample failed a test for the substance clenbuterol. It has been reported as well that tests detected the presence of plasticizer, a component of bags used in blood transfusions. Although there is not an official World Anti-Doping Agency test for plasticizers in use, WADA has wide latitude in putting together doping cases based on several types of evidence.

This will be the first time since 2008 that Lance Armstrong won't be in the race. After last summer, he retired for a second time when he was unable to contend after a series of first-week crashes. He is still a member of the Radio Shack team that will be represented at the announcement by director Johan Bruyneel, who has come out in support of Contador and the Spaniard's contention that he ingested clenbuterol through contaminated meat. Several associates of Armstrong have been questioned by or turned over documents to federal prosecutors who are conducting a grand jury investigation into cycling.

Pet owners should know that taking their dogs out for short walks is a form of exercise that benefits them as much as it does the dog. They need the walks in order to feel happy and stay healthy, plus they get the chance to do their toilet out there.

What is really of concern is that most dog owners only want to take their dogs on short a short lap round the block instead of going for longer walks. Some also are lazy enough to just set the pets loose within the compound and expect them to run around as part of exercise.

The truth is that if all you have been doing is to give the least form of exercise for your pet, know it here and now that what has been happening is unfair to the dog and to you too. The dog can be regarded as the most faithful friend to man, it would normally accompany its owner faithfully on such walks come rain or shine. Therefore, it is really not fair to the dog for it not to be given the kind of exercises it needs and lots of it, in fact so as to contribute to its general health and welfare.

It might surprise you to note that walking your dog can actually benefit you as an individual too. A simple walk might not seem to you as something to do with exercise but this is a very effectual way of getting your body to be active.

As you continue to gain strength and endurance as both you and the dog walk together, the end result will be that you will be able to cover greater distance with time. You will begin to look forward to the walks as you get to see more of the neighborhood. You will also benefit more from these walks because of breathing more fresh air into the lungs to make you feel more relaxed and better when back home. Of course you will never know the great joy the dog will have from the increased attention it gets during the walks.

As you get used to walking, soon you will find that there would be no big deal in going for short runs depending on what type of breed your pet is.

The shorter legged dogs hardly run fast and might find it difficult to keep up with you. The other bigger dogs are different. They love running and jumping around as you play Frisbee or pitch and catch. You could also decide to go to the park or go for nature hike.

Generally, dogs would love to go for long walks and as a person you would really benefit from the constant exercise.
