<g:plusone size="tall" count="true" url="http://www.pet-memorial-urns-online.com/raising-turkeys-and-chicken-with-each-other-can-it-be-a-decent-idea/"></g:plusone>

It is natural to wonder if raising turkeys and chickens together is a good idea especially if you are already raising on or the other but is it a good idea?

Raising turkeys and chickens together is not a good idea but it can be done with a little bit more work.

Why can't you raise turkeys and chickens together?

Turkey care is not quite as easy as hatching turkey eggs and watching them grow although it can be very easy. There are some things that need to be considered when raising turkeys and chickens together.

The main reason that you shouldn't raise them together is because of diseases. Turkeys are susceptible to life threatening diseases that chickens are immune to. Chickens are a carrier of these diseases. When you keep chickens and turkeys together you run the risk of all of your turkeys getting infected and dying. That will make it very hard for turkey breeding.

Another very valid reason for not raising turkeys and chickens together is that they both require different nutrition in their diets. If you put them both together then it is going to be really hard for you to regulate their diets.

Without proper nutrition you will end up with both of your chickens and turkeys being unhealthy and having problems.

The third reason and not nearly as important is that the general nature of chickens and turkeys do not match so you might end up with all out war between the two.

So how can you raise both turkeys and chickens together?

If you have enough room to raise both chickens and turkeys then you can keep them both in their own separate places. Make sure though that there is some distance between the two areas so that you do not have the problem of diseases spreading.

By making sure that they each have their own areas you can enjoy the benefits of raising turkeys and chickens together without having the fear of them getting sick or hurt.

Regardless of whether you are looking to go full blown into turkey farming or are just looking into more information on turkey care so that you can raise a few turkeys the best thing you can do is learn as much as you can regarding raising turkeys before you begin your new adventure.
