Before you can tame an aggressive dog you must determine from where his aggressiveness comes from. Aggression has served the canine population well. Dogs in the wild use aggression for hunting, defending themselves as well as protecting their resources such as their den, mate and food. Though selective breeding, humans have significantly reduce the amount of aggression our dogs have today, but the fact is: there is still a bit of aggression in every dog.

It can be very difficult to counteract a basic instinct such as aggression. But, as dog owners it is our responsibility to properly socialize our pets and train them to accept and abide by the rules of our world. There are many steps we can take during the life a dog to prevent his aggression from ever showing up at all, and techniques to recognize and treat dog aggression effectively.

There could be as many aggression types as there are dog breeds, in this article we will focus on the two most common:

Aggression toward strangers and aggression towards a family member.

For some of you out there you may just want me to get on with it and tell you how to deal with or stop dog aggression. Well, the two common types of dog aggression have two different ways of dealing with them. So, by identifying the type of aggression your dealing with will direct you to the proper way to handle it.

Dog aggression toward strangers.

If you are having problems with your dog's aggression with strangers, all you need to do is socialize. Dog like people can get scared in unfamiliar situations. With some time spent in a save comfortable atmosphere your dog can be introduced to more people and places, which builds confidence. Once your dog becomes comfortable with meeting new people the aggression should subside. It's up to you to socialize your dog and expose him to as much as possible.

Dog aggression towards a family member.

Aggression toward a family member is much different than aggression toward strangers. If the family member has spent a good deal of time in the same house with the dog and your dog still hows aggression towards that individual then there is a dominance problem. The dog feels as though he out ranks the family member in his pack (family). In the dog pack world aggression is how a dog maintains and moves up the social hierarchy. To curb this type of aggression you need to introduce some obedience training and brush up on your alpha dog techniques.

It's widely accepted among the vast majority of dog training experts that the most effective and humane way to train your dog is through a process called positive reinforcement training. This is a fancy phrase for what's essentially a very simple theory:

Using positive reinforcement entails rewarding the behavior that you wish to see repeated, and ignoring the behavior that you don't. This method is in direct contrast to some of the now-outdated but once-popular techniques for dog training, some of which were frankly abhorrent: physical pain and intimidation (such as hanging an aggressive dog up by her collar), or inhumane methods of aversion therapy (such as shock collars for barking).

Your dogs natural instinct is to please you, this is why positive reinforcement is so effective. This theory instills your lessons in a more meaningful way with a long lasting effect. When your dog is able to "get" what you are teaching in there own time instead of being forced into submission.(learning "down" by being force down repeatedly v.s. rewarding your dog and saying "down" when your dog naturally lies down).

When you use positive reinforcement training, you're allowing her the time and the opportunity to use her own brain. Some ways for you to facilitate the training process:

- Rewards that mean something. A little rub on the head and a "good girl", gets pretty boring for a dog. (some dogs don't even like being rubbed on the head.)

- watch their expressions and notice how most will balk or shy away when a hand descends towards their head). To keep the quality of your dog's learning at a high standard, use tempting incentives for good behavior. Food treats and physical affection are what dog trainers refer to as "primary incentives"

- In other words, they're both significant rewards that most dogs respond powerfully and reliably to.

Should you purchase it? Is it a scam? Is it a rip off or good advice? People are talking about the "Sit Stay Fetch" PDF.

Some folk think it's a scam or waste of funds. However, based on my research and everything I've found from dog lovers who have acquired this book supports the idea that "Sit Stay Fetch" really delivers and the product is well worth the money to purchase it. The book is for the dog lover, of any level - from first-timer to experienced owner - who would like a better behaved dog!

If you are about to purchase your first pooch, consider reading this book first. The first couple of chapters go into detail on breeds, knowing what you are getting into will save everyone a lot of aggravation. There are plenty of animal facts to consider before deciding on what kind of dog is best.

If you already have a dog (most people reading this will...) then you're in good company. The first part will tell you a little more about your dog and his quirks - why he is the way he is - and then you'll get to sink your teeth into the really meaty portion of the e-book - the dog training explanations, themselves.

Here Daniel Stevens, the writer of the Sit Stay Fetch ebook ( Now retitled to'Dog training Secrets' ), explains in detail all of the steps of coaching your dog.

These instructions are broken down into separate step, which gives new owners a little at a time to deal with and makes it easy to follow. Daniel Stevens gives an 8-week guarantee too, so if your dog isn't behaving within that time, you can request money back for the book.

If your dog is exhibiting behavior problems that you'd like stopped - dog aggression, barking, jumping, house breaking problems, or even just refusal to obey simple commands, then this dog training guide is just what you need.

I have seen nothing apart from positive praise for how well the Sit Stay Fetch e book is broken down, how straightforward it is to follow, and how much information is essentially in the book. Because this dog training manual is delivered as an E-book, you simply download it as a .pdf file onto your PC, you can open it and read it right away without worrying about shipping costs or waiting time. And, it's truly simple to scroll down to the parts you wish to read. That's awesome!

if you would like to try a training the dog a trick or a command, scroll down to the page and voila - you can even print it out on a piece of paper to have a handy 'cheat sheet'. It's much easier than going through a physical book making an attempt to find it.

My recommendation for this book is a categorical YES! If your dog has behavior problems that you'd like to resolve the Sit, Stay, Fetch eBook will help you solve them quickly, easily and for a much lower cost than hiring a professional dog trainer. If you think this *might* be for you - give it a try and you'll get your money back right away if you decide it's not a fit.

When it comes to training your dog, there are a couple of options. You could hire a professional dog trainer to come to your house, sign your dog up for six weeks of classes, or spend $40 on a dog training manual and train your pet yourself. Interestingly enough, the results will be pretty much the same. The only difference will be the amount of money you spend and the time wasted taking your dog to class.

All pet owners know how exasperating it can be to try and get their pet to stop bad behaviors. Most of us have tried persistently to teach a dog to stop barking or chewing on the furniture or some other crazy making activity, to no avail. Our inability to communicate our desires to our dog can become overwhelming and even lead cause us to give the beloved pet away.

A dog training manual put together by a professional dog trainer is a much better option. A reputable trainer knows the methods and has the experience to convey to the pet owner what is needed to be effective when training a dog. You can find just such dog training manuals online in e-books and instructional videos. Using this type of training is a breeze.

This dog training manual, called Secrets to Dog Training, gives you everything you need to know to train your dog effectively. No longer do you have to scour the internet for bits of information. Everything is provided in one easily accessible place.

It is authored by a professional dog trainer and contains dog training techniques coupled along with real-life case studies. The publication is in the form of an e-book that you can read right on your computer screen or downloaded to your computer and then print it out as a hard copy to take with you anywhere you wish. It also comes with a 30 minute instructional video that shows different dog training methods in action.

There are many distinct advantages to training your dog in your home using a dog training manual. In the home, the dog is more relaxed and calm and often more responsive to training. The behaviors are also being taught in the location where the dog will be expected to repeat them. This makes training more effective as well. Cheaper and easier, it is an excellent dog training option.

The clear step-by-step instructions in the dog training manual make it really easy, even for a new trainer, to learn valuable techniques for controlling your dog and his behavior. There is so much information in the manual that the attentive student will become quite a proficient dog trainer at the end of the training period.

Any good dog training manual should provide easy to follow instructions. A training manual like the one mentioned above offers flexibility in the training process. If you are having a particular problem with your dog, you do not need to wait until the topic comes up, as you would when attending training classes. You can address it immediately. The training manual allows you to customize your dog training in any way that is most effective and manageable for you.

And when everything is said and done you are going to have a much happier and healthier dog on your hands. To say nothing about how happy you are going to be with your dog's exemplary behavior. You can even have some fun and teach them some cool tricks. It is all up to you... and the investment in time and money will be paid back to you exponentially.

The value of learning effective dog training online can be seen on many levels. While the vast majority of us pet owners are well-intentioned, we most certainly are not professional dog trainers. That can mean great frustration when trying to teach our dogs proper obedience and behavior, to say nothing of all of the tricks and commands that we love so much.

If you've ever searched the web for tips and information on how to handle your disobedient pooch, you've no doubt discovered that much of what you find doesn't really help. There is an eBook available, however, that you can download onto your computer and even print out and put in a binder if you like, that uses the same techniques and methods as professional dog trainers.

One of the biggest advantages of an eBook is that you can train your dog on your own time schedule in the comfort of your home. An eBook is also considerably cheaper than hiring a trainer to come to your home and more convenient than weeks of taking your dog to class.

The second benefit of dog training online is that you can teach your dog obedience and behavior training from the comfort and convenience of your own home. Now that's great for you but more importantly it's better for the dog. Your home is where the dog lives and you want whatever behavior modifications you are going to teach the dog to be done in the environment in which they live.

If you own a particular breed of dog you may think you need specialized training. This is not true. General dog training works in most situations with the exception of highly specialized training, such as that needed for a guard dog or aid dog. This would have to be handled by an intensive professional training program.

Training your dog is largely about training you. Be sure when you choose a dog training online manual that you choose one that makes sense to you, that is easy to follow and understand and has been compiled by a professional dog trainer with a solid reputation. A manual that offers all the information you need in a way that helps you communicate with your pet, will be most effective.

If you are interested in modifying your dog's behavior, for example, training him not to nip your heals or bark at the cat, a well written dog training manual will provide step-by-step instructions how to teach you how to accomplish this. The same is true if you want to teach your dog commands like "sit", "stay" or "fetch".

What makes dog training online effective is the fact that the author is indeed a professional dog trainer that has the requisite experience and knowledge that they can effectively pass on to you so you can train your dog to be a better pet and companion. And in the end, the dog itself will be much happier and better adjusted.
