One artist claims that a dog will guide us between life and death. This female artist first explored the symbolic meaning of shadow dogs in a series of black and white paintings and monotypes on display at the local restaurant located on their main street. The artist has a fine arts degree from a university in New Mexico and has exhibited her works at many galleries in the state, as well as in Hawaii and New York City. Notably she has always gotten recognition in mediums like fabrics, photography and printmaking.

From dogs this artist turned the tables and went to frogs. Measuring 10 feet tall her work is made of steal. A young girl's fascination with frogs was what she called her work.

At the same time she was also able to study about non rational states of consciousness. In her work she was able to shoe the lings on certain shamanistic beliefs like the way an animal and a human can work together. The inclusion of the olden survival tactics is really important for the continuation of our existence. Cooperation with animals now is a need in order to survive.

One can really see the collaboration in her monoprints of dogs. Her escapades include working at a local humane society and for the local news. She is also known to take home strays and has about four now.

Her monoprints center on these creatures. With this she has to work rapidly making sure she does everything all at once. Each time one has to be mindful of two things. The procedure is very physical.

Though at times there is an image that can be made out you still are not really sure of it. This artist makes her work more direct.

They capture moments in the day of a dog that are usually humorous or absurd like the bedraggled little dog on the car seat in taken a dog show. The dogs that she paints would either be yawning, sleeping in the grass, portrayed with their heads lost in a culvert or a can of kibble.

The main thing is to never forget about your titles says the artist. It is still funny even of you do not know what really happened. She is also willing to work on commission for individual owners. She also has a business with her husband where they collaborate.

What you have here is graffiti. Now, ruffiti. Carrying the images of his dogs are the uncontested spaces all over Manhattan like construction site fences or buildings. You do not have to be an avid lover of dogs for you to appreciate the kind of work that this particular artist does.

When it comes to his paintings, he does not generate the same reactions from people. There have been numerous publicity stunts when it comes to this works. After the media covered most of his works, he ended up with a seven city tour one summer on Route 66.

He started painting the dogs as a way to cut through, to avoid having to talk to art dealers. You have no freedom of expression when you have to deal with art dealers according to him. Sad to say, a lot of artists have to experience this kind of treatment for them to be a success in the art world.

Soon after, he was out one night and wanted to do something new. There is nothing that can be compared to this showcase of art. Various sizes, colors and forms of the dog meet the eye wherever you look. Never was he not confident about his works.

It takes seven swift strokes to make one dog portrait. You can thank the formless paintings that hung in galleries because they led him to start this kind of art form. A visit from a woman staying down the street from the gallery only happened when it was time for his dog show. She had nothing but good words to say about her new $1,500 dog painting.

There were some buyers and then some. For one fan, all he wanted was the artist's signature on his dogified fences. Some negative comments were also present in this case. Such portraits should not be in New York another person mentioned.

There will always be detractors the artist said. When he was not painting, he would engage in buying and selling antiques.

He loves walking around the city because this is where he gets his ideas from. During the evenings, his travels take him to the Wall Street area. Come summertime, the country is where he gets his inspiration. Hitting Chicago is the Dogs across America tour.

Coming up with certain rules for hanging pictures results from years of experience. As much as possible refrain from hanging pictures on every single wall unless you've always yearned to live in an art gallery and keep in mind that hanging a picture is best when a wall appears to be bare without it. Every time you hang a picture it is a good idea to do so over a sofa, in groups, over a server, a small pier table, or a console.

Also important is the second rule. Take a look at the furniture under the groupings and see to it that the latter is not wider. Hanging pictures of varying sizes closer together helps you achieve a more unified look. When it comes to type and size you may have a prized collection of bird prints with different frames. Frame by frame hanging of pictures should be avoided and instead go for pleasing geometrics.

The following are some other rules. Even with pictures hung in close proximity the wall acts as a frame that serves to set off a group of pictures on all four sides. Pictures hung in pleasing geometry means that they are arranged to form a square or even a rectangular formation. Should you possess four pictures all framed alike and of the same size it would look great if you hung them vertically above a small step table, geometrically in a square over the sofa, or in a straight line over a long table. In the absence of a staircase do not resort to the step pattern when hanging pictures. Straight lines meeting at nice right angles make for the best arrangements. Most of the time a little regimentation ends up working well.

Let's say you have a group of pictures of various sizes and subjects, a lifetime accumulation of ever changing favorites that includes old family portraits, prints, reproductions, originals. If you want to hang this collection of favorites together, try unifying the group by framing and matting everything alike. Matting them in forest green, one friend used simple gold frames for 16 prints. The look was outstanding when set against a red wall. Another friend added color by matting each picture over her sofa in a different color. Here not only were the pictures of the same size but subject as well.

Did you encounter a time when you stared into a department store model room but thought to yourself that it was bare? When it comes to someone living, sleeping, eating, and taking phone calls in that room there are no signs whatsoever. There is no room for individuality. This will complete your home.

The selling of furniture is why there is a department store model but in a home you want to achieve comfort and pleasure. Important in this case is that you pick your favorite color. The room's mood can easily be affected by the color you choose. When it comes to colors these carry different emotions. For your space consider taking a look at some color charts to see what colors might be good or not. In this situation the best choice is you own choice.

Featuring local thespians, the play called the innocents, opened its curtains to the public. Once you look at the set, you shall see a picture, the subject of many strange speculations. The owner of the picture who prefers to remain anonymous has had the picture for many years. She was traveling down the street when the picture in a shop window caught her eye and for some reason, still unknown to the owner she parked her car, went into the shop, and bought the picture.

It was impossible that she could afford it, but she waited there for the clerk to take the picture out of the window for her. She remembered that her kids needed to buy clothes, schools and supplies for school time was around the corner. I am sorry I cannot afford it no matter how beautiful it is, she recalls pondering about these words which she will tell the saleslady. I have to get that portrait no matter what, the woman suddenly shrieked and this stopped the clerk from returning it back on wall where it previously hung.

She hurried out of the antique store after paying the attendant but she could not figure out why she got that picture even as she could not afford it and she was also wondering about how she will explain herself to her spouse once he gets home and sees what she had spent so much for. It was a painting done around the late 1800's and early 1900's, featuring a Borzoi, a Russian wolfhound in oil. Most would agree that it was an enchanting portrait but then for some who have been trained and are familiar with the Borzoi, they should be able to point out that it was absurd how the artist chose to show only the head and shoulders of the dog, and cast it in an almost straight on pose. It is obvious, too, that the chest is not proportioned to the shoulders.

This makes the fact that she bought the picture even more strange as she was very familiar with the breed and knew what a Borzoi should look like. When her husband arrived home that evening to find the picture hanging on the wall there was not the blow up of overspending the needed money for a portrait of a dog, instead there was the same strange attraction that she had felt.

Many experts and amateurs of photography have chosen this as their subject and yet there never was an instance when two photographs came out alike. There are occasions when the dog portrait would show a spectral face on its right side, then at some times it would look flat then 3 dimensional in others, but at most times, whether the portrait would appear as either black and white or in full color, strange lights would seem to emanate from it.

One time, husband and wife were discussing about whether there was an entity that came along with the picture they had of the Borzoi hound, but then the husband insisted that there was nothing weird about it and they simply imagined too much and it was just light reflections playing with their minds. A plate that hung on the wall, which was made of ceramic fell with a crash but surprisingly, it did not break and neither was there a gash in it.

The owners of the portrait were approached by the producer director who heard about the painting and explained to them that his play was a story of the supernatural so they gladly agreed when he asked them if he could loan it for the set of his production, The Innocents. They insisted that something went with that picture, moving into their home on the day they bought it, and they believe that lending it for his stage play, the Innocents, might be able to shed some light on this mystery. They can only keep their fingers crossed that this true.

Little faces haunt this graphic artist as she works in her office at home. There was nothing particularly vibrant and joyful about her work at home, which involved handling form designs and creating ads and coupons. She was being watched by four dogs and four cats through a screened door.

A new career opened up for her because of those faces. While she was on her way to visit her parents in Texas, she decided to paint pictures of her animals. Not just still lifes but portraits of green dogs and purple cats, using the kinds of colors seen on an animal but the colors she feels through their personalities.

She makes it a point to capture the essence of the animal when she paints. With different colors, I can paint the animal's personality and looks. In Mississippi, she painted a mixed breed, which was her first painting. It was a red dog, and it never left them.

The jealousy of this dog made her use green paint for his portrait. The artist isn't the first to paint animals using nontraditional colors. In 1984, a cajun artist made a painting of a blue dog, inspired by his dog who passed away in 1980.

It's hard not to not see the blue dog. While people may find a certain playfulness in the blue dog paintings, there is actually a serious and darker side in how the artist views the paintings. The basis of each comical painting is actually one of deep spiritual connotation. Questions that have haunted man since existence are now being asked us by the dog in the painting.

She wants to capture the animal's vitality in her art. Using vibrant colors and unusual patterns, she tries to capture the way they act. These animals were all alone before she came and rescued them. The newest dog she adopted was one who wandered from house to house.

She left fliers in local veterinarian offices last summer to market her pet portraits. Give me a picture of the animal and also her personality description, she tells her clients. Once she understands the animal, she will decide what colors to use. The store owner points out something unusual about the portraits which the customers just simply appreciate.

Her energetic personality was captured with they yellow paint. The artist owner of the local gallery in Memphis said portraits, even whimsical ones, appeal more to people who know the subject. It's one thing to look at a portrait, even a pet portrait and appreciate it for its artistic quality.

Let us look at this issue from a different angle. We do not want to behave like dog owners because we really love dogs. We must not treat our friend like a mere plaything. Dogs also have their own mind. We are the ones who have separated these puppies from their mothers at a very tender age of just six to eight weeks. A friend has been brought home and we must also treat him like a dear friend.

Although dogs are basically descendants of wolves, they have developed a strong attachment to humans. We should be able to respond back with the same level of love and attachment for them naturally. Each dog is fiercely loyal to just one person. Nevertheless, he would show different levels of love and attachment towards all the other members of the family. The onus is on us to treat this friend as an equal member of our family. This actually eliminates one of the many causes of barking of dogs.

There are some people who get really scared when dogs start barking. This is one of the ways they use to communicate with us. Dogs also use other ways to communicate with us. The fleeting expressions on their face and the faint sounds that they make tell a lot about them. We must be sensitive and very attentive. Being able to catch these subtle signals would help us responding to them in a batter manner.

Dogs are both intelligent and complex species. They have certain needs of their own that encompasses their diet, regular exercise and attention. Developing a proper understanding of their emotions will prevent you from wishing them away. Being able to understand the feelings of this friend, be it his loneliness or boredom or sickness, will help in preventing our friend from barking.

It is quite certain that you would want to bring up your dear puppy as a member of your family. As a result, you must know how to ignore the advice that is being given in most of the dog training series. Do not issue one-word commands to the dog and expect a robot-like behavior. If possible, talk to your dog habitually and make sure you do the same for quite some time. Underestimating your dog will not be wise. Dogs are known to make sense of entire sentences. If only this poor fellow could speak, he might have some of us a run for our money.

Let us try to remember the different principles of body language and face reading and then apply the same to the dogs. Countless signals are being given by your friend concurrently. Take the time to look at the face, especially the eyes, and also his body. If your soul reaches out to his, your instinct will take care of the rest. You will also realize his desires, his needs and also his love for you.

In a nutshell, you should treat your pet like your baby and do exactly what a good parent should do. Never think of giving your friend a silencer. You would rather need an amplifier to actually hear the unspoken language of the world of canine.

Showcasing the talent of local thespians, the innocents finally raised its curtains. At this stage is a picture, about which supernatural legends abound. An unknown person is said to take ownership of this portrait for years and years. The lady cannot recall why she bought the picture all she knew was she was going down the road, parked suddenly and bought it for reasons unknown to her up to now.

As she stood there waiting for the clerk to take the picture out of the window for her, she thought what am I doing, I can't afford to buy this picture. It's almost time for the children to go back to school and books, clothes, and school supplies are to be bought. Thinking to herself, she will not buy this for even if it was so beautiful she could not afford it and she will tell that to the clerk. In a very loud voice, she yelled that she just had to purchase the portrait no matter what, stopping the clerk before she could return the portrait back in place.

She then got it hurriedly and walked out of the store, nervous about how her husband could possibly react when he finds out she compulsively bought such an unnecessary and expensive thing, while she also tried to figure out what made her go ahead and buy it. There was no exact date on the painting but it can be surmised that it was done in the late 1800's or early 1900's, and it featured a Russian wolfhound known as a Borzoi, with oil as its medium. This very beautiful picture when scrutinized by someone familiar with the Borzoi will easily wonder why the Borzoi in the picture was painted with an almost straight on pose and he will also get to wonder why it is only the dog's head and shoulders shown there. There is not even proper proportion between the chest and shoulders.

Even as the woman's eyes were extremely familiar with such a breed and knew exactly how it must look like, she still got it despite thinking that she should not. The wife was surprised about how her husband felt so drawn to the painting of the Borzoi the way she was too when she first saw it when she first thought that her husband would get so mad about her overspending instead of spending it for the kids' school needs.

Amateurs and experts have all taken shots of this painting but it never came out the same, ever. There are times that the dog painting would look like it was three dimensional, while flat at some times, then most of the time it seems that the pictures were in color or black and white some strange lights would show but the creepiest would be the times when a spectral silhouette would be showing on the portrait's right area.

?I think it is just the light reflections or more so, our hyperactive imaginations,? the husband shared as he told his wife that he does not think that there is something strange about the picture that she bought. A huge ceramic dish from the wall fell with a crash but surprisingly, it was not broken, neither were there any cracks on its delicate surface.

Hearing about the tales of this portrait, the playhouse director and producer sought the couple to loan the painting and use it as part of his play, the Innocents, which was about supernatural forces, and indeed, they agreed to it. Together, the couple openly discussed with the producer of the Innocents that they feel that the portrait was able to make something unknown come into their home the day they got it, and he might be able to help them realize what this when he uses this for his local stage play. They're hoping this is the truth, at the very least.
