Special situations, such as dog obesity, can also have a big impact on your dog food selection. Weight management dog foods can be a good first step towards helping your dog fight their weight issues. This type of dog food is great for getting your dog back on track to being healthy.

Some dog owners like to use wet food for their dogs especially smaller ones. Though wet dry food can be used well as a treat on top of dry food, it isn't really a necessity.

Don't forget to ask what sort of food your dog was on before you got it. Diet changes should be approached gradually to help your dog avoid digestion problems, especially since they're probably in a new place as well.
