One great way to bring in a large crowd of unique bird species to your front yard is by building a bird house, and by providing them with a oriole nectar feeder, you can be sure that they will return to your yard time and time again. Oriole birds, which are especially partial to window bird feeders, will begin to show up in larger numbers if you set up window bird feeders for them near your garden.
There is a near limitless number for different designs for bird houses for you garden that will attract different birds. Different birdhouses attract different birds, so with a little research you can easily find out which birdhouse you want. Usually, the favorite of many birds are any houses made from untreated wood. Many birds do not care about how gaudy the birdhouse is so you will often times find that the simpler houses will have more birds nesting in them. Generally, birds from the UK and bluebirds also prefer simple dwellings.
Bird feeders will easily bring in wild birds for you to view. All you need to do is make a safe, healthy place for birds to come for food and they will do just that.
Logically, birds seek out areas that are free from apparent danger and also desire to be near a supply of fresh water. However, you may not attract new residents over night as the birds will have to be given time to find the new feeders in your garden. There is not reason to be discouraged though. Given enough time the birds will start frequenting your garden.
One helpful tip would be to place a reflective object at the feeder's base in order to entice birds to your garden. Another way you could attract birds to your garden is freshwater, as they love to groom and bathe themselves throughout the hot summer season in bird baths.
A fountain can be a wonderful addition since birds will be attracted to the sound of the water running. You can also benefit from the tranquility offered by a gently running fountain. Bird feeders that feature mirrors can also be quite popular because of the natural tendency for birds to visit shiny objects.
If you are not totally sure on where you want to set up your bird feeder, bear in mind that the best place to keep it will usually be beyond your general range of vision since birds are apt to hiding from people. You should have your window bird feeders set up in a tactical manner throughout the layout of your garden, as this will ensure the birds' well-being in their locale and leave you with a sense of fulfillment.
