Unless we put the Persian cats into particular category it will be impossible to recognize them as in recent times they are coming with a blend of different color coats.
To make it simpler the Persian cats have been categorized on the basis of their coat color. You can see from the examples here as to how they are called, Silver Shadowed, Golden Shadowed, and Cameo Shaded and of course Red Persian cats.
Initialy the Persian cats had white colored under coat with layers of various color tips on the coat hair which is known as ticking. But now you can see absolutely new colors like blue cream due to cross breeding of these cats.
Pure white albino Persian cats are very rare and you will find Persian cats with red coats just like ordinary cats. The shade of red that you find in the Persian variety is not a pure shade of red which you may assume but it is more on the shades of orange or ginger with variation. You will find hints of brown or white on the tips or all red. Most of the red Persian cats nevertheless have a red coat all over.
The coat, lips and chin of the red Persians are red. You will find that the nose leather and the paw pads are brick red while eyes have brilliant copper color which is totally unlike the Silver Shaded or Chinchillas which have green or blue green eyes. The gorgeous black rims around the eyes will give an impression that they are wearing eye makeup which is common in all Persian be it Silver Shaded, Chinchillas or Red cats.
Most of the times the red color does not happen in isolation and is accompanied by patches of cream, white and cameo. The diversity of colors that occur on a Persian cat could be realized when you see a Smoked Tortoiseshell Persian which has a white under coat with prominent black tip intermingled with red and cream ticking too which gives an impression of a tortoiseshell.
It is absolutely enthralling to see this breed of Persian cat with various color patterns out of which some have cream ticking on the face or have a pure red face which is very popular.
You will see that most of the breeds of Persian cats like Shaded, Golden Shaded or Chinchilla have eyes shaded green or blue green. Only the Tortoiseshell Persian cat and the Red colored cat families have eyes that are of brilliant copper colored.
The only dissimilarity that you will find in Red Persian cats is that they have fluffier and longer mane but as far as other physical characteristics are concerned like punched face, short and thick legs, solid body, dark rimmed eyes are similar to the other Persian breeds. The chin and lips have similar shade as its coat.
