Lactobacillus acidophiles in capsule form purchased from your Vet or pet store can remedy the problem. Add the recommended dose to water or administer directly from dropper to your pet's mouth.

Pink or red urine. Blood in the urinary tract is grave. Get him/her to the Vet immediately.

Skin irritations. Itching and scratching caused by parasites and fungal infections can lead to more serious conditions and should be dealt with quickly. Consult your Vet or pet store and get a medicated shampoo designed to kill and prevent further infestations. Many products exist to deal directly with specific vermin that attack your pet's coat.

Head tilting and seizures. Ear infections can cause your Cavy to slant his head to one side and walk irregular. Mites, lice and other parasites can cause a number of maladies that affect the nervous system. Tremors, head tilting, body curving, and stiffness can result. Look up your veterinary immediately when you think your pet shows these signs.
