Eating Ourselves to Death

It has become very apparent that people are fat these days, more so than 10 years ago. We need to be conscience of the reasons, and try and avoid them at all costs. In today’s fast paced society, people don’t have time to stop and examine what they are eating – rather, they are blindly racing through life shoving anything down their throat in order to meet their deadlines and responsibilities. A lot of trust has wrongfully been placed on the so called experts of today to get our nutrition right for us as individuals. Instead, individuals should be responsible for their own health and nutritional needs, and be aware of the chemical composition of each and everything they place into their mouths for consumption.

Have you ever considered the ingredients that make up potato chips (crisps) ? Most people believe it is potato, which is probably true for about 50%, but what about the preservatives, the acids, the salt and sugar content. What about the composition of soda drinks? or so called juices? The old saying “ignorance is bliss” just doesn’t cut it. The individual needs to be responsible for their own diet, after all, it is not a game – it is real life. The question is what happens to the chemicals consumed on a daily basis ? Most believe it is passed through the body in the natural means, but consider that chemically this is just not so.

The body is one big chemical store house that is constantly changing and trying to balance itself, like trying to adjust pH levels, chemical balances and even positive and negative electrical charges. Metals and chemicals that enter the body add to the complexities of your body’s balance, and more often than not are “stored” in the body, in the cells and fatty tissues. It is when a build up of these chemicals, minerals and metals become too much for the body, that problems start to occur. In other words, we are slowly poisoning ourselves with the processed foods and chemicals that we call food.

In order to remove the build up of chemicals, a change in lifestyle needs to occur. It is however often ‘too much of an inconvenience’ for most people. What they are really saying is that they are happy slowly poisoning themselves, and will deal with the future health problems in the future (that they essentially caused by their poor eating habits). People still cling to the hope that the magic pill will be discovered or invented to solve their self induced health problems. This of course, will never happen.

So what can we do to avoid this situation? By eating whole foods. By no means am I suggesting that you should become boring and only grass, but I am saying that it is up to you to make the right decisions today, to avoid the health nightmares in the future. You will be amazed by what you can achieve in terms of health and disease avoidance and reversal because of whole foods and a healthy diet.
